Have you heard about ADU’s? ADU stands for Accessory Dwelling Unit – in other words, a “back house” or “granny suite”! You are allowed to have these on your property now. They can be detached, attached to the main house, or even part of your house carved off to make a second unit. In 2018, I started building ADU’s to have additional cash flow. If you are a home owner, you should consider adding an ADU to your property. If you are a realtor, you could learn more about this strategy so you can sell more houses by helping your clients see the benefit of building an ADU on the property.
I wanted to share this presentation with you that I did on Accessory Dwelling Units (ADU’s). This presentation includes 3 examples of ADU’s I’ve built. Please have a listen! Learn from my mistakes and most importantly learn how you can create additional cash flow from building your own ADU!

In 2018, I purchased a house in the City of Stanton, that was hoarded for 30 years, with badly overgrown shrubbery. I couldn’t even get around the back yard! Once I cleared everything out, I could see that there was potential to build a detached ADU. Here is a series of “before and after” pictures of the ADU coming together – from overgrown shrubbery to studs/wood walls to finished product!
If you have any questions about building your own ADU, or have more questions about Accessory Dwelling Units, please reach out to me and I’ll see if I can help you get started.
