What We Found Inside a Recently Purchased Los Angeles Home

Every home has a story, and sometimes those stories are hidden beneath years of accumulated belongings. Recently, we purchased a home in Los Angeles that was filled with items left behind by the previous occupants. Situations like this are more common than many people realize, especially in homes affected by severe clutter or hoarding.

Discovering the Treasures

While clearing out the property, we came across a number of interesting items—some of which could still be useful to others. Whenever possible, we try to donate items to organizations or individuals who can make good use of them. Depending on the type of items and the location of the property, we often arrange for charities or local groups to pick them up directly.

It’s always rewarding when belongings that might otherwise be thrown away can instead help someone else.

When Items Can’t Be Saved

Of course, that’s not always possible. In some cases there is simply too much material to sort through, and unfortunately a portion of it has little to no value. Occasionally it truly is just trash that has accumulated over the years.

When that happens, we make every effort to recycle what we can and responsibly dispose of the rest.

Navigating the Clutter

Homes like these can present unique challenges. In many cases, the amount of clutter creates extremely narrow pathways throughout the house. Items may be stacked floor to ceiling, making it difficult to move safely from room to room.

Sometimes the clutter is so extensive that entire rooms are completely inaccessible. Doors can’t be opened, hallways are blocked, and the layout of the home becomes difficult to even recognize.

If You’re Facing a Similar Situation

If you come across a home that’s difficult to walk through because of excessive clutter—and you’re unsure how to move forward with selling it—you’re not alone. Situations like this can feel overwhelming.

If you need to sell a property like this, feel free to reach out. I’m always happy to help brainstorm practical ways to sell the home and figure out the best path forward.
